VIP visitors view the Golden Grove Park ‘n’ Ride
On Friday, 25 February 2022, members from the Golden Grove Park ‘n’ Ride Project hosted the project’s Traffic Management Liaison Group and local fire station staff for a tour of the new facility.
The Traffic Management Liaison Group is made up of representatives from council, schools and emergency services, and keeps relevant parties informed about upcoming changes. It also provides advice on timing of any traffic changes.
Friday’s tour provided the opportunity for the group to see the ground and upper floors of the new 450 car Park ‘n’ Ride, the secure bike enclosure and disability access parking.
It was commented on during the tour that inclusions such as the Adelaide Metro MetroCARD recharge machine and bike repair station were welcomed as thoughtful inclusions for commuters.
Of particular interest for the local high school, were the Kiss ‘n’ Go car parking spaces, aimed at assisting with school drop off and pick-up for Golden Grove High School.
The tour provided a great opportunity for the Traffic Management Liaison Group to see the importance of their role in the construction process and how it has helped to create a new, state-of-the art car park, adding to the growing number of Park ‘n’ Ride commuting options in Adelaide’s North-east.
