Traffic moved onto temporary road to enable bridgeworks to begin
Mon, 16 July, 2018
The traffic changes were put in place over the weekend during an occupation of the rail track and included relocation of the boom gates and redirection of road traffic over a temporary road, which has been constructed to carry traffic during construction of the new Morphett Road bridge over the future lowered railway line.
Diversion of the road traffic will allow the crossing to stay open to vehicles during the bridgeworks, which will start with piling works. The changes will be in place for approximately 3 months at which time the traffic will be moved back to the west to allow the second half of the bridge to be constructed.
