Temporary car park opened for commuter use

Mon, 18 June, 2018

The Crozier Terrace car park was closed on 16 June 2018 to allow construction of the new rail line and station at Oaklands. To help offset the closure of car parks during construction, a temporary commuter car park was constructed on the corner of Diagonal Road and Morphett Road, next to Coles Warradale. Two additional accessible spaces were also provided on Murray Terrace with immediate access to the station. Permanent car parks were constructed soon after on Railway and Murray Terraces to further increase the number of car parks.

Train commuters who used the Crozier Terrace car park were urged to consider alternative options, such as parking at a different location, walking or cycling to the station or making use of the Kiss ‘n’ Ride drop off area on Murray Terrace, which remained open throughout the project.

It was suggested to keep the above in mind when planning a journey, and to allow for extra travel time.

The PTP Alliance would like to thank train commuters and local residents for their patience during the construction period.

Upon completion, the project has provided 50 additional car parks for commuters.
