Staged car park construction

Fri, 22 February, 2019

The Oakland Crossing Project has provided more car parking options for commuters.

As part of the project, a new parking plan was created, which offers more than 50 additional car parks. A total of 360 car parks are available, plus motorbike parking, regular outdoor and secured Park ‘n’ Ride bike cages (for further information on secured bike cages visit https://www.adelaidemetro.com.au/Using-Adelaide-Metro/Bikes), Kiss ‘n’ Go zones and a taxi bay.

The new commuter car parks are spread around the four quadrants of the station, to help with the dispersion of vehicles, parking access and consequent traffic in the local area. Car parks were designed within reasonable walking distance to the new Oaklands Railway Station.

The upgrades were completed in two stages, with stage one opened to commuters in December 2018 and Stage two opened by mid-2019.

The Oaklands Railway Station previously provided two Kiss ‘n’ Go zones, a large car park and a few smaller car parks adjacent the station.

Stage one (now open):

  • Railway Terrace
  • Murray Terrace
  • Crozier Terrace

Stage Two (now open):

  • Railway Terrace
  • Addison Road
  • Murray Terrace
  • Crozier Terrace
