Reusing corflute signage

Mon, 18 October, 2021

The Project Team is working with the Renown Park Children’s Centre (the Centre), to re-use corflute wayfinding signage that is no longer needed and to brighten up the local area.

To tie into what the children are learning about, the corflutes have been cut into shapes of Australian animals - kangaroos, turtles, birds, butterflies, wombats and echidnas.

Children at the Centre aged between 3-5 years old, and their families, have been painting the shapes in vibrant colours.

This artwork is sealed with plastic, silicone and spray varnish and hung on the temporary fencing along Napier Street, Renown Park.

The children at the Centre are enjoying the activity so much that teachers at the Centre are planning to include dingoes, koalas, platypuses, lizards and emu shapes in the next batch to be painted.

So, watch this space, as it's about to get a whole lot more colourful!

If you are a school in the local area and would like to contribute to the fence art, please call 1300 613 533 or email ovinghamcrossing@ptpa.com.au to discuss.
