Ovingham Railway Station upgrade
The Ovingham Railway Station upgrade will refresh the station and improve the user experience and access. The upgrade will include:
- new shelters, seating and bins;
- upgraded fencing, platforms and access paths;
- upgraded communication equipment and lighting;
- new Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV); and
- landscaping and new on-street carparks along Devonport Terrace.
Preliminary works have commenced, with the main station upgrade works to commence shortly in early February 2022. This will include the installation of temporary fencing around the area, clearing of vegetation and removal of existing furniture, fencing and access ramps. The station upgrade is expected to be complete in late 2022.
The majority of works will be undertaken Monday to Saturday, from 6am to 6pm.
Some night and Sunday works will also be required. The PTP Alliance will provide advanced notice when this is planned.
To safely facilitate these works, speed and parking restrictions will be in place along Devonport Terrace and Avenue Road, Ovingham. Some temporary road closures will also be required in this location. Advance notice will be provided if any temporary traffic diversions are required.
Some temporary pedestrian and cyclist detours will be in place around the works site and pedestrians and cyclists are advised to follow directional signage.
