Outer Harbor Greenway and streetscape works

Works to improve the pedestrian and cyclist access along sections of the Outer Harbor Greenway in Rosewater and Port Adelaide, will take place from late March 2024 for approximately 8 weeks, weather permitting.

Locations include Grand Junction Road bridge western footpath (between Lipson Street and Henry Street) in Rosewater, on St Vincent Street and along Barlow Street and Baker Street in Port Adelaide.

Grand Junction Road bridge

Works will take place Monday to Friday, between 10am and 3pm, until mid-April. Activities will include:

  • Removal of the existing footpath
  • Installation of a new asphalt footpath
  • Preparation works for the relocation of existing light poles
  • Repair a section of handrail along the footpath.

Nightwork will be undertaken on Tuesday 2 April, between 7pm and 6am, to install the relocated light poles.

St Vincent Street, between Baker Street and Todd Street

Works to prepare for the construction of two new centre-of-road refuge islands, will take place in late March 2024. Activities will include:

  • Demolition of kerb
  • Removal of existing asphalt
  • Placement of new asphalt.

When complete, the refuge islands will link pedestrians and cyclists to Todd Street, as part of the Outer Harbor Greenway.

Barlow Street and Baker Street, between Bower Crescent and St Vincent Street

Upgrades are planned along the western footpaths on Barlow Street and Baker Street, between Bower Crescent and St Vincent Street, Port Adelaide, as part of the realignment of the Outer Harbor Greenway.

Works will start early April 2024 and take approximately 6 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Works will take place Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm. Activities will include:

  • Removal of existing footpath, including cobblestones
  • Planting trees and installing protuberances (larger kerbing areas to protect trees from parking cars) along Barlow Street
  • Installing new concrete footpath and kerb
  • Placing new on-road line marking to indicate new cyclist sharrows.

Works will move progressively along the western footpath on Barlow Steet and Baker Street, Port Adelaide.
