The shared pedestrian and cyclist bridge
Thu, 20 December, 2018
The project worked hard on assembling the bridge after it arrived on site in October 2018. In early November, the bridge was lifted into place and works continued to complete its installation.
From Thursday 20 December, the bridge opened for public use and provides commuters and residents with additional access to the existing railway station and surrounding area.
The bridge was constructed off-site by SA family owned business Bowhill Engineering, who also constructed the canopy for the new station. The bridge sits 5.4 metres above the the new rail corridor and provides pedestrian and cyclist access across the new underpass, at the eastern end of the station.
