Artwork Competition for planter boxes
As part of its ongoing work with the local community, the PTP Alliance collaborated with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport’s Rail Care Team and Keolis Downer, to deliver artwork opportunities to year 4 students at Brompton Primary School.
The students were invited to participate in an artwork competition, to win the opportunity for their artwork to be painted on planter boxes, by professional artist Adam Poole-Mottishaw.
The artwork theme was ’what makes you happy’. The students worked on the project for two weeks, before submitting their designs.
In late October 2022, five winners were announced at a school assembly hosted by the Rail Care Team. Special guests, including Jon Whelan, Chief Executive of the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, along with staff from Keolis Downer Adelaide, City of Charles Sturt the PTP Alliance, participated in the assembly.
Keolis Downer Adelaide held an interactive presentation about rail safety, and students discussed what rail safety meant to them and what hazards they need to look out for.
Following this, all students received a Certificate of Participation. The winning artwork will be painted on the planter boxes in early 2023.
