Meeting with students from Golden Grove High School
Enthusiastic year 10 and 11 students from Golden Grove High School braved the cold weather to meet with members of the Golden Grove Park ‘n’ Ride Construction Team.
These students have all completed their White Card training and are interested in pursuing careers in the construction industry.
Members of the Project team discussed the piling works occurring on site and explained the detailed process of installing the 117 piles for the Park ‘n’ Ride Project.
Everyone then moved to the warmth of the classroom to discuss the piling works in greater detail. The students were particularly interested in the diverse array of trades and degrees included in the construction industry, with the Site Manager having a background in carpentry and the Alliance Interface Manager having a background in mechanical engineering.
Both the project delivery team and students are keen to meet again in a few months’ time for another discussion about the progress of the works happening on site.
