Major works will be carried out continuously from 8.30pm Sunday, 29 May 2022, until 5am Friday, 10 June 2022, weather permitting.

These works will include:

• upgrading the junction of Torrens Road with Churchill Road;
• upgrading the junction of Chief Street and the new Torrens Road bridge; and
• switching traffic onto the new Torrens Road bridge.

Day and night works will be undertaken during this period.

Traffic management and detours

Detours will be in place to direct motorists. Please see the maps over the page for traffic detour information during these major works.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time and take extra care when workers are on site. Observe speed limits, lane restrictions and direction of traffic controllers when travelling through the area.

Temporary pedestrian and cyclist changes

The works will require temporary pedestrian and cyclist detours. Please follow the site signage and observe the direction of traffic controllers.

Access to properties

Access to businesses and residential properties will be maintained throughout the works, wherever possible. Advance notice will be provided if there is a need to temporarily restrict driveway access.

Noise and vibration

Trucks, concrete saws, excavators, tippers, concrete pumps, compaction equipment and lighting towers will be used during these works.

Some noise disturbances can be expected at times while these works are completed, however the work will be managed to minimise disturbance to nearby residents, as much as practically possible.

Temporary public transport changes

Public transport services will be temporarily impacted along Torrens Road and Churchill Road.

Adelaide Metro buses will be detoured during the closures. Advance notice signage will be in place at bus stops to advise passengers of the detours.
