Schools STEM partnership

In recent years, the South Australian Government has invested significantly in science, technology, engineering and maths programs across all its schools. The PTP Alliance partners with schools located close to – or affected by – its projects to help bring projects into the classroom and provide real world engineering problems.

Involving schools in PTP Alliance projects also helps increase community understanding of the complexities and requirements of large and complex infrastructure projects. It also fosters future interest in science, technology, engineering and maths careers and invests in South Australian based skills.

If you are a local school that would like to work with the Alliance on STEM projects, please contact us.

Community Development

Opportunities to work with the community during PTP Alliance projects helps to develop strong relationships and community ownership of the project. It also helps to offset construction impacts, particularly during longer projects. PTP Alliance staff work – often for long periods of time – within the local community to deliver local infrastructure outcomes and it is important to the Alliance that our staff become part of the community in which we work.

PTP Alliance project teams are always looking for opportunities to contribute to community events, local charitable causes, volunteering, in kind assistance to community groups, buying local, sponsorships and other opportunities.

If you would like to talk to the Alliance about community development opportunities in your area, please contact us.

Creative activation

Whilst projects ultimately result in improved amenity, new landscaping and urban design improvements, the amenity and a community’s sense of connection to a place can be affected by temporary fencing, access changes and site clearance during construction.

The PTP Alliance works closely with local communities to make sure places remain as appealing as possible during construction. Initiatives can include temporary art displays and installations, events, community activities and events, come and try days, screens, signage, and viewing areas.
